Welcome to Sifnos, a Greek island in the Cyclades, known for slow-cooked dishes in clay pots (revithada, mastelo), artisanal ceramics and stunning monasteries.
This travel video documents a few of the most recognisable spots of the island, though a few were missed due to the harsh windy weather that swept through during our visit.

 Featured Locations:
• Faros & Vliho (Glyfo) - Faros is a picturesque fishing village on the southeast coast of Sifnos that was the island’s main port until 1883, named for the lighthouse at its bay entrance. Vliho (Glyfo) beach is named after a well of brackish water that has existed since ancient times and remains there today and is located to the right of Faros Beach.
• Panagia tou Vounou - A monastery located on a hill above Platis Gialos, offering stunning views of the coastline. The church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and is a significant religious site on the island, standing there since 1813.
• Panagia Chrissopigi - Built on a small promontory on the southeastern coast of Sifnos near Fasolou Beach, this monastery is dedicated to the Virgin Mary of Chrysopigi, the patron saint of Sifnos. Built in the 17th century, it is one of the island’s most significant religious landmarks.
